Wedding Season is Drawing to a Close

It’s been a while, in fact it’s been 28 weddings ago since I last wrote a blog and while that seems like it should be years ago it was only on 2nd May this year.
I’ve not had many weekends off in between in fact I think this is only the 4th Saturday I’ve had free, and I had a week off on holiday, during that time. It’s been completely mad and I literally have not had any time to reflect it’s just been a case of moving onto the next wedding and ensuring I keep up to date on editing. I also like to meet couples before their weddings in our pre wed meetings and that has had to happen in addition to the actual weddings. During this time I also have business admin to take care of like social media, advertising and general business administration in addition to working a few days a week and in the last couple of months down to 2 days a week.
Illness isn’t a consideration for me during this time as it’s peak season and I don’t have time or the luxury to feel unwell or tired as I need to be there during weddings organising, working hard to make the best images I can every day, chatting to everyone and making sure everyone has the best experience possible. In the case of full days that’s usually a 12 hour working day. Then coming home to edit previews until 1-2am in the morning before possibly going onto the next wedding the following morning.
Despite this it’s been an amazing few months, I’ve loved every wedding although they all seem to have passed by in a complete blur. I’ve been to some new venues, some incredible ones, but also some of my old favourites. I absolutely love what I do and I’m fully aware of the privilege I have of recording the happiest of days together with the responsibility that brings and Ive tried to make sure I’ve spent time enjoying each and every day.
Something I've been thinking about recently, if you have spent the day with me as your photographer I’d really love to see what you’ve done with the photos. I’ve been chatting to clients at pre weds recently and saying to them I rarely hear much from anyone after I’ve delivered your final gallery and I’d love to see what people do with the photos seeing as we rarely provide wedding albums these days. So if you’ve got photos on the wall or anywhere or you have photos you really loved I’d love to know.
As far as photos I have to share with this post, that’s been difficult because I have so many that I’ve taken that I love.
